Roles where I worked directly with the people using the software and shipped into the systems they already had.
Forward Deployed Engineer Intern: Shipped a two-sided platform into outpatient eating-disorder clinics: 10K+ daily active users, a patient app, and a HIPAA-compliant dashboard for the care team. Met with 229+ clinicians and turned their feedback into features and interface changes that shipped to production. Built the clinician dashboard in React: rosters, consent and waivers, meal plans, safety plans, clinical notes, secure messaging, and reporting on intake, meal timing, and biometrics. Built the patient app in Flutter, Kotlin, and React Native. A vision model estimates calories from meal photos and stays hidden from the patient, on clinical advice, next to an OpenAI chat companion. Designed AWS DynamoDB models and automated daily check-ins so patient logs and the clinic dashboard stay in sync in real time. Built the CI/CD pipeline and the test suites that gated every release, so a regression died before a clinic saw it.
Software Engineer Intern: Shipped features on the underwriting web apps internal staff use every day, and debugged production bugs across the TypeScript front end, GraphQL APIs, and SQL. Integrated those apps with policy, claims, and billing over REST and GraphQL, so staff saw the same data the core systems held. Saved 4,500+ hours a year, about 84 hours a week, by automating the rekeying teams did between systems. Worked with QA and DevOps on Jenkins pipelines built with Docker and Kubernetes, in the release path the customer already used.
Research Intern: Built models for bidirectional translation between PyTorch and JAX, with GPT-3.5 and BERT checking compatibility so researchers could move a model without rewriting it. Wrote the result up as steps the lab could run. The technical detail was only useful once the group could act on it.
