A static loan-eligibility map. Zones live in GeoJSON and a JSON manifest, deployed by GitHub Actions.
Neighborhood Finance Corporation needed a map of loan-program boundaries for Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. I led a four-person team. The site is static: Leaflet, GeoJSON polygons, address search, and a mapping file staff can edit without an engineer next to them.
Eligibility depends on which polygon an address falls in, and the polygons change. A hand-maintained map was expensive, and the people who knew the zones were never going to maintain an app.
Polygons stay in GeoJSON. A mapping.json manifest names each zone, points at the file, sets its color, and can hide a layer. A query flag switches the program variant. Search uses Leaflet GeoSearch, and GitHub Actions publishes the site. I wrote the maintenance docs: add a zone, cut a hole, rename, revert.
